Welcome to the Wisconsin Deerhunters' Home Page

This is the home of the only registered Wisconsin Deerhunters' club in Wisconsin. There are other organizations using the name Wisconsin Deerhunters. We are not connected to them, we are not an alliance or coalition. We are eleven clubs who believe the OVERALL sport of deer hunting is very important to the deerhunters, businesses, farmers and other citizens of Wisconsin.

We are not a one issue organization. We feel all things that may harm deer hunting in Wisconsin are important. We decided at our Annual Meeting this Spring that we feel that the Wisconsin DNR is the organization that we will follow. It is the only educated and trained group in the field of deer and hunting. Many amateurs have theories and most of these are dangerous to deer hunting. One group is advocating leaving the infected herd in SW Wisconsin alone after the regular hunt. I suppose they feel the disease needs more time to spread further north. Many have suggested do nothing and nature will take care of the problem. That means my son and grandchildren probably will not hunt deer in Wisconsin in their lifetime. Let's leave the radicals out of this decision.

Our organization wants a professional wildlife organization to handle this problem. Not politicians, not people who have an economic interest to protect. We support the lawful method which is being proposed. The writer has seen what happens in other states who do not have the professional DNR we do. We support them.

Do something for the sport you love. Help to protect the Heritage so that you, your
children and your grandchildren will be able to hunt deer in the great state of Wisconsin.

Organize a chapter and join "WISCONSIN DEERHUTER'S", We give you start up money, special benefits for your first year and help when you need it. You immediately become an important voice in bettering and preserving deer hunting in Wisconsin. We are your only voice in our state. All money that is made at banquets, etc. stays in Wisconsin.

All Hunter Education classes sponsored are in Wisconsin. All research on deer management is done in Wisconsin for Wisconsin deer. All lobbying done for deer hunting issues is done in Wisconsin.

You get the picture, if you live in Wisconsin, if you hunt in Wisconsin, if you enjoy seeing deer in Wisconsin, if you want to join an active state club, join the Wisconsin Deerhunters'. You have a voice and are relied on to determine how the State Chapter spends its money. This is done at the Annual Meeting. Each Chapter sends delegates and a general discussion is held on the merits of each project.

Some things funded in recent years are: Wittenberg-Bimamwood chapter study of the Whitetail deer in their area which you can read about on this home page. A donation was made to the Navarino Wildlife Center to help build their new Educational building. They were also given $500.00 for viewing scopes so people can see wildlife close up. There was money given to help construct a new shooting range in Marathon County. The list is endless and all contributions help preserve the hunting tradition in Wisconsin.  Check out our Chapter links for more information.
